Study in SIM

Why should Indian students consider private study in Singapore?

Singapore is a vibrant city-state with several top institutions, making it an ideal location for Indian students who are looking to study abroad. Here are just some reasons you should consider private study in Singapore for higher education as an Indian student.

A Global Business Hub

Singapore might be a small city, but it is known as a business hub, not just for Asia, but globally. Low corporate taxes and a transparent government has made Singapore extremely appealing to foreign companies looking to set up businesses in Singapore.

Despite the pandemic, Singapore is still set to be a global hub for business. Minister Chan Chun Sing noted that the focus in the future would be on aggregating talent and intellectual capital in order to adapt to a post-Covid world.

Therefore, doing private study in Singapore has the potential to set yourself up for several types of jobs in a bustling business hub.

High Quality Education

The Singapore education system is one of the best and most competitive in the world. A degree from a Singaporean university is likely to be well-regarded during your future job search, whether in Singapore or internationally.

The university education in Singapore often goes beyond lectures. Many universities place an emphasis on real-world experience, including work experience and placements or internships as part of the graduating criteria. That, combined with a reputable degree, will set you apart from future competitors.

Vibrant City-State to Explore

The country is also famous as a tourist destination. With endless lists of things to do, you will find that your weekends will always be filled with things to do. The multicultural city also has many places to explore and cultures to experience. With English as a widely spoken first-language for the large majority of the population, it will also be easy to navigate the city.

Overall Lower Costs

In comparison to other popular destinations for higher education, Singapore universities have considerably cheaper tuition fees. You might also be concerned about the high cost of living that Singapore is infamous for. However, this is not the case! With a world-class public transport system as well as affordable food at hawker centres that is a staple of the Singaporean lifestyle, living in the city does not have to be expensive.

If cost proves to be a significant barrier, there are also several scholarships available to students from India. One of the most significant schemes is the Tuition Grant Scheme. The grant is a way to obtain a subsidy for tuition fees, but foreign applicants will have to work at a Singapore firm for 3 years after graduation. SIM Global also offers scholarships that cover all tuition fees and course-related expenses for high-performing students.
