Study in SIM

Why should Malaysian students consider private study in Singapore?

Being just across the Causeway, Singapore is more than a vacation spot. Singapore can also be a potential destination for students to get private higher education. Here are just some reasons why you might consider this.

High Quality Education Without the Distance

Singapore’s universities are amongst the top in the continent and are competitive, even globally. Degrees in Singapore universities are generally well-regarded, and programmes in universities here are intensive, ensuring that you will be ready for the workplace.

At SIM Global, we bring you the world through our programmes. Partnerships with 12 renowned universities around the world allow us to truly prepare you for a global workplace. All this, right across the Causeway from home.

Overall Lower Costs

While Singapore may seem more expensive with the living costs and current ringgit to Singapore dollar exchange rate, the costs in Singapore are significantly lower than in other renowned international universities.

Living in Singapore can also be affordable when you know the good hawker stalls and use public transport. Furthermore, student life comes with many perks such as discounted rates on tourist attractions and more.

A Global Business Hub

Singapore might be a small city, but it is known as a global business hub. Doing your degree here can give you access to internship and job opportunities here, connecting you to businesses around the world. Whatever the type of industry you see yourself in for the future, Singapore will have a company for that.

Be Close to Home

The Malaysian student community is huge in Singapore, so most universities will have a Malaysian student society where you can meet with other people from back home to share Malaysian food and culture together. You can also check out the Malaysian Association in Singapore (MASIS), a non-profit organisation to support Malaysians who are living in Singapore.

Scholarships

There are also several scholarships that are applicable to international students that can help with the cost of tuition fees. The Tuition Grant Scheme is a popular one for international students as it helps you with the cost of school fees and only requires that you fulfil a bond at a local company afterwards. SIM Global also offers various scholarships for international students.
