Darya’s decision to attend the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and pursue her studies with SIM-RMIT University wasn’t made lightly. For her, it was about finding a university with high educational standards and practical, real-world applications. Reflecting on her choice, Darya shared, “I opted for SIM because of its superior educational standards. The lecturers are highly skilled and knowledgeable. The institute provides a variety of programs in collaboration with various reputable university partners. The chance to pursue both an SIM diploma and a Bachelor’s degree in Singapore is plus point.”
Singapore itself played a key role in her decision. Known for its global prominence and strategic location, the city offered the perfect backdrop for her educational journey. “Singapore serves as a key gateway to Asia and is a major global logistics hub,” she explained. “With its futuristic architecture, thriving economy, excellent healthcare, and reliable public transportation, it’s an ideal place to start your career. The country also prioritizes educational excellence, attracting students from around the world. Being in Singapore allowed me to build an international network, which is essential for becoming a global citizen.”
Darya, being career-focused, knew what she needed from her education. She was drawn to SIM’s approach, which emphasized practical learning over theory alone. “The lectures at SIM cover real workplace scenarios, which makes it easier to handle tasks on the job because you already know the solutions and strategies, even at an early stage,” she noted. This hands-on approach helped her feel confident and prepared her for career head start.
Support from the faculty and staff at SIM also made a difference in Darya’s experience. “My lecturers were always open to questions and very kind to the students,” she said. “They understand the challenges of being an international student in a foreign country, which helps us feel secure and supported. The Student Service Centre is excellent—efficient, fast and professional.”
For Darya, her experience at SIM and in Singapore was more than just an academic journey—it was a significant step towards building her future.
